Blog 8: Good Design principles

There are a couple of principles that are essential to creating a dynamic and efficient online community. The first principle would be simplicity, of the layout, and the user process. The normal human is lazy, and would rather do the least work for the most outcome. When searching & reading online users want to make the least effort to find interesting information, therefore providing a platform that is easily usable increases the interactions of knowledge between people online.

The next principle would be a strict but open privacy policy. The barriers created by such policies can easily inhibit the flow of important information. There is a category of information that endangers the security of the system, such as bank account details. On the other hand, contact information, interests, and connections fall under a category of information that can allow faster information flow.
