Marketing products (one of five themes – learn more here)

You had the idea, the support, you designed the product successfully with your team. Now is the time to get it to market. How will you reach your end users? Directly? Through intermediaries? How will you reach far and wide enough and how can online communities and networks help you? Find some examples of successful marketing communities and networks and post them in the comments.

What online architecture, tools and processes successfully help designers connect their products to markets? What differentiates these from other types of open innovation online groups and environments?

    I did some research about successful cases of online marketing. Take the Whittaker as an example, in April of last year, Whittaker chocolate launched “the first chocolate website in the world” in New Zealand. The blocks were then broken into individual pieces, photographed and integrated into the design of the website. You can watch the whole process in the “The making of” video on the Whittakers homepage. The response has been excellent, with the new site reaching the previous site’s monthly average in only five days. Users are also spending around five or six minutes on the site on average. And meantime, this has contributed to a significant increase in FB likers, around 8,000 extra over the first 2 weeks.

    How to create a good online marketing plan, I think there are 4 main parts are needed.Firstly, research and analysis is the basement of Internet marketing, because we need to know customers requirements and advertisements’ purpose, and analysis of the characteristics of enterprises, status and product quality. The next is making a attractive online marketing strategy to catch more peoples eyes. After that, we should start to work out a particular steps of creation implementation, such as short-term goals, schedule, budget and medias. Finally, when implementing the plan, we should follow and measure the short-term effects just in time and change the original plan at any time according to the result of implementation following.
